Emerging from the intersecting contexts of South America and Southern Europe, the three artists engage with historical archives of trans/non-binary/marica protest performativities, as well as the mytho-biographical narratives of their life journeys. They explore the tension and pressure experienced between the cis visibility regime, with its modes of social protest in heterosexualized public spaces, and a counter-archive of sexual protest articulated by trans/non-binary/queer voices.
Combining experimental choreography, drag practice, painting and graphic work, queer/crip theory and Black philosophy, activism, and sex-gender-dissident archives, they present an open, site-specific performance session.
As part of their research process, they undertake a residency at La Caldera (Barcelona) and an open laboratory at Escola Cicatriz – Terra Batida (Lisbon). This methodological period serves as situated input, allowing them to engage with specialized technical and intellectual knowledge, local communities, and historical genealogies that inform and prepare their stage creation.
