After visiting the Panasqueira Mines, in a mountainous region of Portugal, a strong feeling of suffocation took hold of my throat, caused by several factors: the contaminant particles floating invisibly in the air; the silenced stories of the miners and their companions; and also, the monoculture of the compulsive heterosexual system.
From this experience, we focused on the act of breathing and discovered that breathing can be as empathetic and sensual as it is sinister and toxic.
What is this altered air that affects us and that we metabolize daily? What do we imagine while we intoxicate ourselves?
